Refractionist Project Myanmar Closing Ceremony

Congratulations to the 9 Refractionists, who have successfully completed the two-year Clinical Upskilling of Refractionists to Deliver Comprehensive Eye Care in Myanmar Project.

In July 2017, Sight For All commenced a Clinical Upskilling of Refractionists to Deliver Comprehensive Eye Care in Myanmar Project. The two-year project involved training 9 Refractionists from 5 teaching hospitals across Myanmar.

Over the project period, 25 teaching visits were delivered by Australian optometrists, significantly improving the skill level of the 9 Refractionists and increasing the number of patients diagnosed with different eye diseases in the teaching hospitals.

The Refractionists were presented with their certificates by Sight For All Board Director Gavin O’Callaghan, at the Project’s closing ceremony, on 12 June.

The Project has been supported by the Australian Government through the Australian NGO Cooperation Program (ANCP). We are most grateful to the Australian Government through the ANCP, and Sight For All Visionaries, for supporting this successful Project.
