OUR AUSTRALIAN PROJECTS

Sight For All works across Australia to strengthen eye health knowledge and improve access to care within existing healthcare systems, complementing our international efforts, which often centre on enhancing sub‑specialty ophthalmic services where care is limited or unavailable.

With more than 435,000 Australians living with vision impairment or blindness – much of it preventable – early detection and timely care are critical. Helping people understand when and how to seek eye care is key to reducing avoidable vision loss.

OUR FOCUS IN AUSTRALIA

Our projects are designed for long‑term, sustainable impact. We do this by:

  • Building eye health literacy to help people prioritise regular eye checks, recognise early warning signs of vision loss, and navigate care pathways with confidence
  • Supporting access through established health services, rather than providing short‑term care
  • Strengthening integrated, wholistic models of care through cross‑professional collaboration
  • Developing the future workforce by training and supporting emerging health practitioners

Creating lasting change
Through community‑appropriate education, integrated clinical vision care for vulnerable populations, and strong interprofessional learning, our Australian projects support earlier intervention, clearer referral pathways, and better eye health outcomes for communities nationwide.
