Zeiss and Sight For All – Sight Saving Equipment+ Fund

Infrastructure support (the provision of equipment) is one of Sight For All’s four synergistic strategies to deliver our purpose of empowering communities with the knowledge, skill and equipment to detect and treat complex eye conditions that would otherwise go untreated.

Sight For All’s Infrastructure Support strategy goes hand in hand with our Sustainable Education strategy, providing the doctors in training with the equipment needed to diagnose and treat patients in the eye clinic, plus perform sight-saving surgeries.

Specific equipment is required to support ophthalmologists who are being trained in various ophthalmic subspeciality areas such as retina, glaucoma, oculoplastic and paediatric ophthalmology. That is – the higher hanging fruit on the Tree of Blindness.

As Sight For All undertakes projects in partner countries, required pieces of equipment are identified. To assist in supporting the procurement and donation of this equipment, we have established an Equipment+ Fund.

The first two pieces of equipment in need that we are planning to purchase from donations to the Equipment+ Fund are made by world-leading medical equipment manufacturer, Zeiss.

Through the Equipment+ Fund, we are initially fundraising to purchase:

A Zeiss HFA3 Visual Field Analyser
required to support Sight For All’s Glaucoma Fellowship training in Fiji; and

A Zeiss Atlas 500 Corneal Topographer
which plays a vital role in diagnosing complex eye conditions and is required at the Khmer Soviet Friendship Hospital in Phnom Penh, Cambodia

With your support Sight For All can source this equipment, and more, to provide to Fellows and their colleagues for the ongoing diagnosis and treatment of thousands of patients within their communities.

Hear from Dr Ridia Lim, our Board Director and Glaucoma Lead Visionary, about her firsthand experience of the positive impact this specialised equipment has had.

Help us bring vision-saving technology to communities in need.

Every contribution brings us one step closer to preventing blindness.
