COMMUNITY EYE HEALTH EDUCATION

Sight For All’s Community Eye Health Education shares an Empowering message to the community about their eye health: most cases of vision impairment and blindness can be prevented through early detection and timely treatment.

In-person eye health education sessions are delivered by Sight For All Eye Health Educators (who are all practicing optometrists) to a variety of community groups, currently across South Australia and New South Wales.

We raise awareness of the five conditions that are responsible for over 80% of vision impairment in Australia:

  • Uncorrected refractive error
  • Cataract
  • Age-related macular degeneration (including geographic atrophy and neovascular disease)
  • Diabetic retinopathy
  • Glaucoma
