COMMUNITY EYE HEALTH EDUCATION
Sight For All’s Community Eye Health Education program shares an empowering message with the community: most cases of vision impairment and blindness can be prevented through early detection and timely treatment.
Our in-person eye health education sessions are delivered by Sight For All Eye Health Educators, all of whom are practising eye health professionals, to a wide range of community groups across South Australia and New South Wales.
We raise awareness of the five conditions responsible for more than 80% of vision impairment in Australia:
- Uncorrected refractive error
- Cataract
- Age-related macular degeneration (including geographic atrophy and neovascular disease)
- Diabetic retinopathy
- Glaucoma
Sight For All also promotes the services and resources provided by other Australian eye health organisations, including Macular Disease Foundation Australia, Glaucoma Australia, and Diabetes Australia.
Our Health Education Sessions
Community Eye Health Education Sessions are provided free of charge to community groups, thanks to the generous support of multiple donors.
