Sustainable Development Goals
The Sustainable Development Goals from the United Nations, are a call to action for all countries and their organisations.
In the goal to promote prosperity while protecting the planet. The sustainable development goals are built towards ending poverty and go hand-in-hand with strategies that build economic growth and address a range of social needs including education, health, social protection, and job opportunities, while tackling climate change and environmental protection.

How does Sight For All’s work align with the
UN’s Sustainable Development Goals?
Our Primary Focus:
Our projects directly impact Goal 3: Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages.

Sight For All believes that Eye health is part of universal health. With vision loss affecting ones mental health and further wellbeing.
We believe that eyecare needs to be accessible to everyone.
Education and the provision of equipment to regional eye units provides greater accessibility to remote areas.
Our Secondary Focus:
Goals 4, 17 and 1 are either indirectly impacted by our actions and projects, or are required to achieve Goal 3

Sight For All continues to collaborate and advocate for policy change.
We work in multi-stakeholder partnerships across the globe to ensure continual opportunities are made available for developing global communities.

Increased vision and eye health has a proven positive impact on learning, school enrolment and education outcomes.
Our patients who are treated by Sight For All trained specialists have the opportunity to have their sight repaired, restored and reduce deterioration.
This results in communities continuing their education, further exploring personal training opportunities for the future.

It is well documented that preventing vision loss and blindness is linked to eliminating poverty.
Sight For All are continuing to work towards all community members, in particular the poor and the vulnerable, having equal rights to economic resources, as well as access to basic health services.
Goals 5 and 10 are influenced through our actions and projects, though our impact may not be measureable.

The majority of those with untreated poor vision are from rural, developing countries. Improved eye health resources in these areas would help rebalance this inequity.

The prevalence of vision impairment remains to be higher in women and girls.
Equality is needed in accessing eye care and Sight For All continues to ‘bridge the gap’ in health care access and opportunity.
