A trip to remember for Dr. Baysa

Sight For All recently hosted our Mongolian Ophthalmic Country Officer, Dr Baysa Purevdorj in Australia. Dr Baysa, whose role with Sight For All is voluntary, attended the RANZCO Congress in Brisbane and spent valuable time with our Visionaries in both Brisbane and Adelaide.

Dr Baysa had this to say about his time in Australia:

It is my honour to have spent valuable time in Australia where I gained valuable knowledge during the RANZCO Congress and learning from Australian Sight For All Visionaries. At the Congress I was able to participate in and present at the Ocular Trauma in Low Resource Settings Workshop and learn from mentors who provided me with a broader view on fighting blindness. In Brisbane I had the opportunity to learn from Visionaries Dr William Glasson and Dr Tim Sullivan. Over the 9 days I spent in Adelaide, I had the privilege of spending time with Prof Robert Casson, Dr James Muecke, Prof John Crompton, Prof Dinesh Selva, Dr Anna Galanopoulos, Dr Sumu Simon and Dr David Sia. A real highlight was spending time at Flinders Eye Clinic for training in using the Eyesi Cataract Surgical Simulator.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the Sight For All team for arranging this experience which will do so much for the people of Mongolia into the future.
