What is Trek For Sight?

Trek For Sight is an opportunity to see the magical country of Bhutan, which boasts stunning landscapes, unforgettable treks and a unique culture which takes seriously its measure of gross national happiness! The trip will be led by Mountaineer Katie Sarah, the first South Australian Woman to climb Mount Everest back in 2010 pictured above flying the Sight For All flag!

Join Sight For All from the 16th-28th April 2018 in Bhutan for a life changing experience, improve eye health care in this stunning region and positively impact the lives of thousands.

Together we aim to raise vital funds to assist with sight-saving projects in this region that will ultimately help to reduce poverty, save lives and bring about a lifetime of opportunities to those who need it most.

Information Night:

We encourage you to come along to our information night to learn more about Trek For Sight.

If you are unable to attend the info night or live interstate, we can arrange an alternative briefing for you. Please email marketing@sightforall.org to register.

The Incredible Country of Bhutan

There is no place quite like the country of Bhutan, the last pristine Himalayan Kingdom which boasts amazing scenery and traditional Buddhist culture. You will see breathtaking views of mountain peaks and intricate architecture of monasteries perched on the edge of the mountains.

Some interesting facts about Bhutan:

- Bhutan is the first country in the world with specific constitutional obligations on its people to protect the environment. Among its requirements: At least 60 percent of the nation must remain under forest cover at all times.

- Bhutan embraces the idea of Gross National Happiness and uses this as a measurement system.

-  Until the 1960’s Bhutan had no roads, automobiles, telephone, postal system or electricity. Bhutanese had no access to TV or Internet until limited access was permitted in 1999.

Adventurer and Mountaineer Katie Sarah

Katie Sarah, one of Australia’s leading mountaineers and adventurers,  and the first South Australian woman to climb Mount Everest, will lead this unique trek. Katie has summited the highest peaks on each of the world’s seven continents and her expertise will guide our small group every step of the way.

Katie and her husband Tim are generous supporters of Sight For All and Katie, who owns world class adventure company Sarah Mountain Journeys, will be donating her time and expertise for our first Trek For Sight Event in 2018!
